Israel’s Future Blessing

14 [a](A)Return, Israel, to the Lord your God,
For you have stumbled [b]because of your (B)wrongdoing.
Take words with you and return to the Lord.
Say to Him, “(C)Take away all guilt
And [c]receive us graciously,
So that we may (D)present [d]the fruit of our lips.
Assyria will not save us,
We will (E)not ride on horses;
Nor will we say again, ‘(F)Our god’
To the (G)work of our hands;
For in (H)You the [e]orphan finds mercy.”

I will (I)heal their apostasy,
I will (J)love them freely,
Because My anger has (K)turned away from them.
I will be like the (L)dew to Israel;
He will blossom like the (M)lily,
And he will [f]take root like the cedars of (N)Lebanon.
His shoots will [g]sprout,
His [h]majesty will be like the (O)olive tree,
And his fragrance like the cedars of (P)Lebanon.
Those who (Q)live in his shadow
Will [i]again raise (R)grain,
And they will blossom like the vine.
His fame will be like the wine of Lebanon.

Ephraim, what more have I to do with (S)idols?
It is I who answer and look after [j]you.
I am like a luxuriant (T)juniper;
From (U)Me [k]comes your fruit.

(V)Whoever is wise, let him understand these things;
Whoever is discerning, let him know them.
For the (W)ways of the Lord are right,
And the (X)righteous will walk in them,
But (Y)wrongdoers will stumble in them.

15 (A)If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

The Holy Spirit

16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [a](B)Helper, so that He may be with you forever; 17 the Helper is (C)the Spirit of truth, (D)whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you.

18 “I will not leave you as orphans; (E)I am coming to you. 19 [b](F)After a little while, (G)the world no longer is going to see Me, but you are going to see Me; (H)because I live, you also will live. 20 (I)On that day you will know that (J)I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I in you. 21 (K)The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and (L)the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will (M)reveal Myself to him.” 22 (N)Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him, “Lord, what has happened (O)that You are going to reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered and said to him, (P)If anyone loves Me, he will (Q)follow My word; and (R)My Father will love him, and We (S)will come to him and make Our dwelling with him. 24 The one who does not love Me (T)does not follow My words; and (U)the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.

25 “These things I have spoken to you while remaining with you. 26 But the (V)Helper, the Holy Spirit (W)whom the Father will send in My name, (X)He will teach you all things, and (Y)remind you of all that I said to you. 27 (Z)Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. (AA)[c]Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor [d]fearful. 28 (AB)You heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away, and (AC)I am coming to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced [e]because (AD)I am going to the Father, for (AE)the Father is greater than I. 29 And now (AF)I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe. 30 I will not speak much more with you, for (AG)the ruler of the world is coming, and he has [f]nothing in regard to Me, 31 but so that the world may know that I love the Father, [g]I do exactly as (AH)the Father commanded Me. Get up, (AI)let’s go from here.
